MEET
ABMES
Founded in August 1982, the ABMES brings together the entities
that maintain the higher education throughout the country in order to
represent them in various governmental and non-governmental bodies
with the objective of contributing to the strengthening of private higher
education in Brazil.
ABMES develops actions in the academic area and in the political
sphere with the effective support of a highly qualied multidisciplinary
technical team, and provides its associates with modern and functional
physical infrastructure.
In the academic area, ABMES prepares systematic studies on issues
related to the private sector; conducts monthly events, broadcasted
throughout Brazil by ABMES TV; and regularly produces publications
with the goal to assist members in their institutional activities.
In the political sphere, ABMES records a history of advocating the
legitimate interests of private Higher Education Institutions, their sponsors
and students to defend free initiatives in education. ABMES puts a lot
of efforts to articulate and to present the proposals to the governmental
agencies for the improvement of the higher education in Brazil.
